There are plenty of outfit ideas for wedding guests. But it really helps to have some that you can depend on to flatter your specific body shape most. Whether you identify as an apple, a pear, an inverted triangle, or just have an idea of where your curves are or aren’t, these wedding guest outfits will clue you in to the shapes that make you shine! 

 

 

Off The Shoulder Dress

The off the shoulder and wrap details of this vibrant dress make it the perfect choice for those with fuller in the middle (apple shape), fuller on the bottom (pear shape), and hourglass figures. Instead of a necklace, I chose a black rosette choker and sophisticated drop earrings. A matching bracelet and colorfully shimmering clutch handbag catch the eye as you move. And the black kitten heel shoes comfortably complete this elegant look.

 

 

Fit & Flare Dress

A sleeveless fit and flare dress is the perfect choice for a wedding guest with a fuller on top (inverted triangle or carrot shape), no curves (straight shape), or hourglass figure. The flare skirt balances these body shapes by adding fullness where needed. Playing upon this dress’s delicate, floral applique details, I chose camilla shaped pave earrings and a simple pave bangle bracelet. The quality of the silver heels provides excellent balance, making them comfortable for plenty of dancing. And the floral clutch handbag mimics the detail of both the dress and jewelry.

 

 

Handkerchief Bottom Dress

Some body shapes, like fuller in the middle (apple shape), no curves (straight shape), and hourglass require eye catching detail at both the top and bottom of their outfits. This sleek, off the shoulder dress with its handkerchief bottom does just that. Keeping the lines simple, I opted for rhinestone mesh drop earrings and a matching mesh bracelet handbag which will both fall in the same way the bottom of the dress does. The simplicity of the silver heels and line wrap bracelet provide eye catching shimmer to this chic wedding guest outfit.

 

 

Flutter Sleeve Wrap Dress

A more romantic option is this feminine, lavender tiered dress. The v-neckline and eye catching details at both its top and bottom are ideal for balancing the fuller in the middle (apple shape), no curves (straight shape), and hourglass body shapes. Rose gold accessories pick up the subtle pink petals. Chunky jewelry would be too bold for such a diaphanous look. So, I chose pave drop earrings and a delicate matching lanyard bracelet. A structured straw evening bag adds texture and is a great choice for tropical locations. The refined kitten heel sandals, with their feminine ankle strap and knot, comfortably complete this very pretty wedding guest outfit.

 

 

Filigree Illusion Dress

This art deco inspired dress provides the illusion of balance to fuller on the bottom (pear shape), no curves (straight shape), and hourglass figures. The lacy spread across the chest and shoulders draws the eye upward and the band across the middle creates and/or emphasizes the waistline. Elegant, 1920’s details are reflected in the geometric bag and pearl with rhinestone jewelry. The platform black heels have a lavish swag of fabric across the peep toe, a nod to the decadent era this outfit represents.
